Scholarship for Outstanding Academic Performance

This scholarship, worth either £2,500 (20,000CNY) or £5,000 (40,000CNY), is open to applying for an undergraduate degree or a bachelor's degree with an integrated foundation programme in a QS top-500 university.

Eligibility

This scholarship rewards academic achievement as follows:

During the first year of your undergraduate degree programme or a foundation programme that is associated with a bachelor's degree programme, you achieve A on all subjects – £5,000 (40,000CNY).
During the first year of your undergraduate degree programme or a foundation programme that is associated with a bachelor's degree programme, you achieve A on 50% or more of the subjects while all other subjects are at B (excluding B-) – £2,500 (20,000CNY).

Terms and conditions

You must be a WeShall Student who has completed a minimum of 7-month course and at least 200 hours with us upon contracts and agreements.
You must be qualified as an overseas student to any countries, starting a full-time, campus-based undergraduate course in a 2022 QS top-500 university, commencing in September 2022 or January 2023.
In accordance with scholarship guidelines, students are allowed to hold only one WeShall Education scholarship. If you are awarded more than one scholarship, you will only receive the higher value award.
If you currently have a conditional offer of a place at a 2022 QS top-500 university, you will still need to fulfil any conditions stated on your offer letter.

Studying with WeShall Education is rewarding and can lead to a great future. But being a student means managing your finances carefully – and that can be even more of a challenge if you are coming from a low-income background.

The WeShall-Scholarship can help you if you have:

FOR courses starting in September 2022 or January 2023:

completed a 7+ months WeShall Education Programme upon contracts/agreements (minimum 100 hours), AND
a household income of £9,000 (70,000CNY) or below as verified by our Student Finance department

If you are eligible, we will give you £1,000 (8,000CNY) cash before your degree course starting.

Eligibility Criteria

You must be a WeShall Student who has completed a minimum of 7-month course and at least 100 hours with us upon contracts and agreements.
You must have been means tested by our Student Finance Department for your family's financial circumstances.
You must be qualified as an overseas student and registered as a full-time undergraduate student of a QS top 500 university for September 2022 or January 2023.
You must provide your household income for the tax year 2020 to 2021 with proof of evidence if you’re applying for the 2022 to 2023 academic year.

Household income always includes income you get from your own savings, investments or property (for example dividends or rent).

This Pen Pal Project Connects Children Around the World

Children make new friends and experience the joy of receiving emails and making video calls!

It’s always exciting to receive a letter. Even today, when the world is digitally connected, receiving an e-letter from a distant land is a great way for children to make new friends.

The Global Pen Pals Project is a beautiful initiative that blends together global connection and self-expression. The project is part of the nonprofit programmes held by WeShall Education and EduHarbor that has successfully launched the Global Teens Meet-Ups project, which won the 2022 Champions Prize 🏆 at the UN-sponsored World Summit Information Society (WSIS). The Global Pen Pals Project is designed for young students from all over the world to connect online and share about their local cultures (holidays, food, clothes, music, etc.). It is to support the children in developing a global vision and be aware of the diversity of people from all cultural backgrounds.

This project is open to all children, ages 8 through 15. Each child is assigned an international pen pal of a similar age. Currently, communication either by email or video/audio call is all in English. This establishes a point of connection right off the bat for the children and facilitates a stronger bond. If the pair of pen pals are in the same grade, they can chat about school, their teachers, and what they are studying.

Job Application Evaluation: the interview

Candidates who have obtained the requirement in the previous evaluations will be admitted to the next step: the interview.

Here are some tips to help you prepare for the interview!

1/ Be yourself: it is an opportunity to stand out!

The interview is a chance to show your personality, your motivation and your ability. The interviewers do NOT have access to your application file, nor to the marks obtained in the previous evaluations. It is an opportunity to talk about yourself. No need to try to pass yourself off as someone you are not! In order for the interview panel to get a feel for your personality, avoid formatting your answers.

Be relaxed, be yourself!

2/ Prepare

The interview will be in English and last about 30 minutes. To start, you will have 2 minutes to introduce yourself, within an introductory sequence of 5 minutes: explaining your background, your profile and your experience for WeShall Education. You will be encouraged to discuss your motivation. To be able to showcase your motivation, you should be able to show that you know WeShall Education.

The admissions panel also expects you to be well informed about what is going on with you, and your plan for the future.

3/ Prepare your equipment in advance

The interviews will take place on Zoom or ClassIn. Although it implies fewer costs and stress, there are still some important details to prepare:

全球青少年线上见面会

为支援全球疫情，闻韶国际教育面向世界所有国家 9-15 周岁的孩子，举办线上“见面会”。以此为平台，建立国际同龄人相互沟通、分享和支持的通道。

活动为公益性质，不收取任何费用。预期每1-2周举办一次，每次约50分钟。

第一次见面会

由联合国SDGs教育大使Margarita Lukavenko女士主持。

活动主题为“你好！让我们彼此认识”。

内容包括破冰游戏，让学生们了解彼此及各自文化、语言、成长背景。而后，我们讨论在疫情期间，大家如何更好地生活和学习。我们还头脑风暴，看孩子们希望接下来的见面会涵盖哪些议题甚至研讨课题，以及如何相互学习和支持。

第二次见面会

由联合国SDGs教育大使 Margarita Lukavenko女士和 Jeremy Deligeard先生联合主持。

活动主题为“让我们进一步了解彼此”。

此次会议加深了学生个体之间的了解，并借由分享不同国家饮食习惯的差异，了解和学习了各国的美食文化。

另外，会议学生成员 David 同大家分享了他的编程经验和心得。David来自哥伦比亚，今年15岁。他曾于一年半以前参加我们的“青少年线上全球胜任力”课程，受益良多。用他自己的话说，这个课程颠覆了他既往所有对学习这件事情的理解和体验。此后，David在正常学习之余，成立了自己的公司，与志同道合的朋友一起做编程开发。

Global Teens Presents

WeShall Education organizes the Global Teens Online Meet-ups for 9-15 year-old students to connect, learn and share interesting topics as a form of support during the COVID-19 times. This will be a completely free activity.

It's 50 minutes per session with students from all over the world. It will run weekly or every two weeks all by professional educators.
